Can anyone post a .net example of a building block using webservices ?
Or point me to one ?
From your Blackboard Learn's Administrator login, click on the System Admin tab. From here, click on Building BLocks and then Proxy Tools. IN the top right of the main frame, you'll see a download sample code link. This download consists of a .zip file containing both Java and .NET sample code.
Usefull code, but no .net building block.
Thanks. I was already using that code. But i was having problems running the code within the blackboard as a building block. I made some changes to IIS and now it seems to be working, at least I can get the server info (the same code as in the qa dotnet example).
My next questions are:
Having built a .net building block that gets info from the blackboard using webservices shouldn't blackboard make it work (make the necessary changes to IIS) as it used to do in previous versions ? The entry in the bb-manifest.xml saying that the code is "Net" still works.
Developing code in .net and putting it in a building block using webservices, works but will it work for how long ? I haven't seen any example of people building .net blocks anymore, only using java.
Since my question starts from where this one left off I am appending to the same.
We have a requirement to add a building block in Bb which allows faculty to post grades to our system.
Since we are a .Net shop we were wondering if we could build the UI to be exposed in Bb in .Net? Somehow it looks like with the removal of .Net support we can no longer create UI building blocks in .Net.
Pls let us know more on this.
